If you love animals and are passionate about their relationship to the world around them, this is the minor for you!

Whether you want to work in the biotechnology industry, manage livestock, or pursue veterinary medicine, this crash course will give you a comprehensive understanding of animal nutrition, reproduction, genetics, behavior, and growth. Learn how to breed livestock in our beef and sheep units, care for animals at the University Farm, study reproductive physiology, and more.

Animals from A to Z

Set a solid foundation with basics in agricultural business, animal science, animal feeds and nutrition, and general chemistry—and then delve deeper in the classes of your choosing, from plant production and animal welfare to movement and industry issues.

With more than 25 student groups to choose from, see livestock operations across the United States on the Livestock Judging Team or work in the on-campus Meats Lab and showcase your butchering skills on the Meat Judging Team.
