Learn to critically analyze art and its impacts on culture, while developing essential communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that open doors to a wide range of careers.

The program offers a flexible foundation through introductory courses that require no previous knowledge of art history, allowing you to focus on the periods and regions that interest you most. Our minor is an excellent addition to any major, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of global visual arts and culture.

Big Picture Learning for the Real World

Our curriculum covers the full scope of visual arts, from prehistory to the present, across diverse regions including Asia and the Americas. You will gain in-depth knowledge of a wide range of subjects, from architecture to art history issues, to African art and photography.

Our program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and will familiarize you with career opportunities across various industries, including in education, museums, and commercial spheres. You will become a proficient writer, editor, and curator.
