Captivate audiences and experience the power of storytelling and its impact on society with a minor in broadcasting. You will become a confident writer, learn to conduct media analysis, and be able to speak and communicate with diverse audiences. The skills you learn here will serve you well in any career.

The broadcasting industry is growing, with diverse career opportunities in front of and behind the camera, in podcasting, sports, research, and digital content production. We are one of the few California State University schools offering a broadcasting minor, and we give all our students a free membership to the Broadcast Education Association.

Enhance Your Skills with a Minor in Broadcasting

Produce media projects such as scripts, videos, and audio content through courses in writing for screen media, broadcast news, and media performance. Learn from professors and lecturers who are experts in the fields and bring industry-specific practices into the classroom.

Our students have gone on to work for some of the most renowned media outlets in the industry, including ESPN, Telemundo, ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox. They have also gone on to work for movie studios, production companies, and radio and television stations in California and across the country. 

I’ve never experienced community like I did at Chico State. I try to live my life with no regrets, but I do regret only going there for two years. That place is magic.
