A Comprehensive Curriculum

You will study the fundamentals of business administration, including taking courses in finance, marketing, and operations management to give you a solid foundation. You will also study topics in business analytics, management information systems, and operations and supply chain management, depending on your chosen pathway.

Specializations and Options

As a business information systems student, you can customize your education by choosing one of our three pathways to better align with your career goals.

    Business Analytics

    Focus on identifying, exploring, and analyzing data to solve business problems. You will learn everything from designing data warehouses, to examining current issues in business intelligence and Internet security, to using analytical algorithms such as machine learning to investigate business problems.

    Management Information Systems (MINS)

    MINS studies how technology can help businesses. This path focuses on a mix of applied computer systems knowledge, communication and interpersonal skills, and a practical business curriculum so you get the technical savvy as well as a deep understanding of business functions and processes.

    Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM)

    From the manufacturing floor to the warehouse, you'll learn the technology that runs the top businesses in the world. OSCM professionals operate at the hub of an organization, interacting regularly with all other business functions, including sales and marketing, finance and human resources.

Gain experience managing a real-money portfolio through the Student Management Investment Fund using the Bloomberg Terminal in our FinTech Lab. You'll also have access to our SAP Next-Gen Lab, which is an extension of SAP University Alliances, a program that enables faculty to bring SAP software and curriculum into classroom and academic research.
