Prepare for an exciting future in the creative arts in one of the top 10 game design programs in the nation. You will be equipped with industry-standard techniques and tools to create games and immersive worlds that captivate players and audiences.
Gain experience working through the entire content creation process. From brainstorming, to designing and developing ideas, to playing or viewing the results. You will graduate knowing how to animate objects and tell stories for animated sequences and shorts, as well as how to create 3D models for animated stories or games.
Experience what it's like to work in a real studio environment through courses like 3D Character Rigging and Motion Capture and our advanced capstone production studio class. You will also learn design principles for art, user experience, and storytelling.
Our program isn’t one-dimensional. You can choose from two options, each of which includes courses in computer graphics, game scripting, media arts design and technology, computer science, and art.
Create unforgettable characters and movies like Mickey Mouse, Avatar, and SpongeBob SquarePants. This option is all about honing your applied computer skills in graphics and animation. Choose from two course groupings: 3D animation or computer-generated imagery (CGI).
Master the fundamentals of game development, including level design, game scripting, and production. You will learn and practice game development workflow, rapid prototyping, agile development, and use industry-standard tools.
Our alumni are working across a wide variety of companies including 2K Games, Epic Games, Sony Imageworks, Zynga, Ubisoft, Pixar, and Blizzard. They are part of the rapidly growing $2.2 trillion global game and entertainment industry.
With virtually limitless career possibilities, you can start your journey in the lucrative fields of video games, film, defense, education, architecture, medicine, as well as scientific research. Other career opportunities include:
We are getting real life experience by making our own games and different projects where we apply what we learn in lectures.
Start creating the games and videos you want to play and watch while building real-world skills through internships, our game studio, and creating large-scale professional productions.
Required as part of our program, you can complete an internship on campus, with local companies like Dragon Graphics, an indie studio like Night Light Interactive, our industry giants like Lucas Films or DreamWorks.
Hone your creative skills by learning the process of making video games and animations through hands-on experience in our in-house game studio, which publishes student-made games each semester.
Join the student-run Computer Graphics Club and meet fellow aspiring creators. You'll discuss industry trends and ideas, network with alumni, and attend game nights and presentations. Students participate in game and animation jams a few times each academic year.
Learn how to make games like the Uncharted series or films like the Avengers in our Motion Capture Lab. You will gain practical experience calibrating and operating a motion capture system and planning and implementing a motion capture shoot.
