A minor in European studies is your chance to explore the continent’s social and political landscape and develop an informed perspective on the historical and contemporary aspects of European life and culture. You’ll dive into topics and subject matter that appeal to you—literature, cinema, philosophy, politics, and more.
To maximize your experience, take advantage of the many study abroad opportunities in the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, or the United Kingdom.
As a student in the minor, you’ll complete a second-semester competency in a European language alongside elective courses including international economics, Shakespeare, French cinema, and existentialism.

With small, accessible classes that lead to meaningful discussions, you’ll develop important critical thinking, communication, and research skills that apply to almost any career path.
A European studies minor is a great addition to many majors and an excellent choice for students looking to work in international business, the arts, politics, and more.
Majors that pair well with this minor include:
The study abroad experience offers exposure to cultures and ways of life around the world, from Italy to Spain to Norway, adding a new dynamic to your globally-minded education and giving you the opportunity to develop competence for international jobs.
