Immerse yourself in the language and culture of the European Union's most populous nation while building skills highly sought after by future employers. Students in our German minor develop functional communication skills and a solid understanding of German-speaking contexts and cultures.
Through our program, you will develop a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you. Our small class sizes ensure close faculty-student contact and a strong sense of community. Take advantage of Chico State's award-winning study abroad opportunities at one of several universities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland while earning credits toward your degree.
As you progress through the program, you'll develop intermediate proficiency in spoken German and basic proficiency in writing skills. Your skills will help you stand out in the job market, earn a higher salary, and travel more confidently.
