Increase your career prospects and broaden your artistic horizons by developing essential photography skills alongside your undergraduate degree. Our program offers a rich exploration of both digital and analog practices, giving you the creative freedom to pursue your interests and deepen your photographic understanding.
You'll gain hands-on experience in well-equipped facilities with computer stations running leading software, archival-quality inkjet printers, and dedicated darkrooms for black-and-white film processing and printing. You'll also have access to a fully equipped lighting studio and the opportunity to use the department's equipment to hone your skills.
Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, our program takes theory and puts it into practice with courses ranging from 2D design to photojournalism to digital lighting and texturing. You'll also explore the history of photography, digital media, and more.
Photographers use a variety of technical and soft skills every day that are useful in a wide range of careers. In addition to honing your technical skills, you will learn how to communicate and manage others, be knowledgeable about the hardware and software used in various media industries, and develop an attention to detail.
From artists to park rangers, our program is compatible with many career paths and majors.
Plan and showcase your work each semester in our art galleries and collaborative spaces. Join our photography club, which offers a vibrant community, specialized support, and unique opportunities to learn and play.
