Statisticians play a crucial role in industries such as agriculture, health care, finance, social science, environmental studies, and beyond. They help us analyze and decipher data, determine what is trustworthy, and solve a wide range of problems across various fields.
Our statistics minor blends statistical theory with modern data analysis, making it an excellent complement to quantitative fields like math, engineering, computer science, and economics. With a few additional courses in mathematics and computer science, this minor can also prepare you for graduate studies in statistics.
Our 23-unit minor is all about teaching you the fundamentals of statistical theory and data analysis. You'll learn how to measure and analyze information, and you'll get to take classes in geometry and calculus, linear algebra, and statistical methods.
Besides the mathematical skills you will acquire in the program, you will become a problem solver, critical thinker, and researcher ready to lead.
