Adelante Seeking Graduate Students for the Adelante Outreach Program

Program Objective: The Adelante Outreach Program is the first step in implementing the Adelante: Postbaccalaureate Pipeline Program designed to support Latinx and low-income students to prepare for, apply to, and successfully attain master’s degrees and teaching credentials.

We are looking for several graduate students seeking meaningful student employment to work in teams as Outreach Ambassadors:

  • Do you have a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion?
  • Are you willing to share your own experiences and knowledge to help our historically underserved students find their own paths to graduate school?
  • Are you interested in developing your leadership, organizational, and communication skills?

Outreach Ambassador (paid student leadership positions at $18.00/hour)

Ambassadors work as a team to design and deliver a comprehensive outreach strategy to all Latinx and low-income students on campus. 

  • Graduate Student Ambassadors help to create, coordinate, and deliver outreach presentations to undergraduates in classrooms, workshops, organization meetings, and at campus events.
    Successful applicants must:
  • Be current Chico State graduate students, in good academic standing (3.0+ GPA).
  • Possess a willingness to learn about graduate education opportunities and related resources.
  • Be comfortable sharing that knowledge with undergraduates through formal and informal presentations.
  • Be self-starters with effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Have a commitment to fostering the success of Latinx and low-income students.
  • Be eligible for student employment: 10 hours/week. Requires at least 2 hours of set scheduled time each week to meet with the team; other hours are planned but flexible.
  • Compensation: $18.00 per hour and start date around February 2024.
