Fall 2026 Applicants

Fall 2026 application period: October 1, 2025—February 16, 2026. The application deadline is subject to change.

Accept Your Admissions Offer by May1!This is the first step to becoming a Wildcat.

October

• October 1, 2025–March 2, 2026: Complete the FAFSA or CADAA to apply for financial aid. 
• October 11, 2025 – Wildcat Preview, an on-campus open house for all to attend.   

November

• November 1, 2025: Admissions decisions begin rolling out as decisions are made.  

January

• January 2–February 15, 2026: Apply for Wildcat Scholarships
  View additional scholarship opportunities.

February

• February 17, 2026: Fall Housing Application Opens
• Apply for Fall Housing February 17–April 17, 2026, during the Fall Housing application priority lottery period. Accept Your Admissions Offer by April 17 to enter the priority lottery for on-campus housing. You may also explore off-campus housing options.

March

• March 2, 2026: Priority filing deadline for the FAFSA and CADAA financial aid applications.
• March 7, 2026: Choose Chico admitted student event at Chico State.  
  Learn more about Choose Chico and register to attend our admitted student's open house. 
• Register for Orientation
  Chico State's Orientation program is designed to welcome and support you in your transition to the Wildcat community. Students will receive support with fall course enrollment at Orientation. Orientation occurs June-July.

April 

• April 17, 2026, or later:  Apply for Housing, first-come, first-served.
  Students who accept on April 17 or later can still apply to be placed in on-campus Housing on a first-come, first-served basis. You may also explore off-campus housing options.

June

• June–July: Attend Orientation
• Receive academic advising and register for classes, meet fellow students, and get to know Chico State’s resources, services, policies, and more at Orientation.

After becoming a Wildcat, plan for Orientation:

• Review checklists and complete pre-orientation modules
• First-Year Students: review mathematics/quantitative reasoning and written communication to understand first-year enrollment and placement
• STEM majors: Determine if you need to assess for calculus readiness using ALEKS PPL

July

• July 15, 2026: Submit Final Documents
  Send final official high school and/or college transcripts to the Office of Admissions as indicated by the To Dos in your Student Center. 
• July 30, 2026: Registration and Tuition Fee Payment Deadline

August

• Provide Proof of Immunization
  Upload proof of immunization to the  WellCat Health Center patient portal  prior to accessing campus
• New Student Registration 
  If you miss your early signup window during your orientation session, you still have a priority new student registration opportunity in August. 
• August 24, 2026 – First Day of Classes

Spring 2026 Applicants

November 15, 2025: Accept Your Admissions Offer!

October

• October 11, 2025 – Wildcat Preview, an on-campus open house for all to attend.
• October 16, 2025 – Initial Document Deadline
  All students: Submit official transcripts.
• Register for Orientation
  Chico State's Orientation program is designed to welcome and support you in your transition to the Wildcat community. Orientation will occur in January 2026. Students attend orientation based on their major.

November

• November 1, 2025 – Housing Application Opens
• Apply for Spring Housing
  You must Accept Your Admissions Offer before applying for on-campus housing. You may also explore off-campus housing options.
• November 15, 2025 – Deadline to Accept your admissions offer - Instructions & Exemptions

December

After accepting your admission offer, plan for Orientation:

• Review checklists and complete pre-orientation modules.
• First-Year Students: review mathematics/quantitative reasoning and written communication to understand first-year enrollment and placement.
• STEM majors: Determine if you need to assess for calculus readiness using ALEKS PPL.
• Attend Orientation to enroll in courses, learn about student resources and services, and meet your new classmates! 

January

• January 3, 2026 – Verify Eligibility
  Check your Student Center Holds before this deadline to verify you have completed all admission requirements. Submit an unofficial transcript with fall 2025 grades or Final Grade Verification Form to verify admission eligibility requirements.
• Attend Orientation
  Receive academic advising and register for classes, meet fellow students, and get to know Chico State’s resources, services, policies, and more at Orientation.
• New Student Registration
  Check your Student Center Holds before this deadline to verify you have completed all admission requirements. Submit an unofficial transcript with fall 2025 grades or Final Grade Verification Form to verify admission eligibility requirements.
