Vice President for University Advancement

Vice President for University Advancement Ahmad Boura knows firsthand that education transforms lives. As a native of Beirut, Lebanon, and a former professional soccer player, he is deeply committed to generating philanthropic support for lifelong learning, civic engagement and service, and the University’s mission to prepare future community leaders.

Boura serves as the University’s senior fundraiser and oversees University Development, University Communications, Alumni and Parent Engagement, Advancement Services, and University Public Events, including North State Public Radio. He is also CEO of the University Foundation, a nonprofit auxiliary of Chico State, which ensures private donations are used to give students, faculty, and staff the resources they need to impact in the North State and shape the world.

In addition to leading the University’s first comprehensive capital campaign, Boura aims to build a culture of philanthropy at Chico State—one that engages students, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends through programs, such as the Tower Society and the Student Philanthropy Council. 

Previously, he served as vice president for institutional advancement at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, and at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire. He holds an MBA from Franklin Pierce and a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Beirut Arab University in Beirut.
