Advisor Training

Thanks to a generous grant from the Stupski Foundation, a cross-divisional team of Chico State academic advisors is currently in the process of designing a comprehensive advisor training program to be made available to all advisors via Canvas.

New Unified General Education Implementation

Chico State, along with the California State University, the University of California, and the California Community College systems, is adopting a new unified General Education (GE) pattern, effective fall 2025.

It’s important for you to know three things about this upcoming change:

  1. General Education and Graduation requirements will NOT change for continuing students per catalog rights.

  2. The area names and labels used to identify and describe General Education requirements WILL change for everyone. You may view the CSU Chancellor’s Office CSU GE Comparison Trifold (PDF).

  3. These label changes will be reflected in all digital degree planning tools including the Degree Progress Report, Degree Planner, and Class Schedule post-Spring Break on March 24, 2025.
