Vernon and Marie Fish
Vernon and Marie were born in Chico. After graduating from Chico High School, they attended CSU, Chico. They farmed in Chico, and in the 1920’s raised cattle and sheep on what is now the Paul L. Byrne Memorial Agricultural Teaching and Research Center. They served as 4-H leaders for many years, and took a leading role in the Butte County Farm Bureau. Vernon served on the Board of Directors for the Chico Production Credit Association. For 33 years Marie served on the Silver Dollar Fair Board of Directors. Together the developed the first enclosed shopping mall north of Sacramento – the North Valley Plaza.
