The University Farm will begin opening for public sales on Fridays this summer as supply and safety conditions allow. The greenhouse will offer perennial and annual plants from 1–4 p.m. Organic produce from the Organic Vegetable Project (OVP) will also be available for purchase, along with Chico State almonds, walnuts and olive oil. The greenhouse joins the meat laboratory, which is open Fridays from 8–5 p.m.

The University Farm is not open to the public except for these sale locations. Please follow signs to the greenhouse and meat laboratory. In keeping with guidance from Butte County Public Health and the CDC, all visitors are asked to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Anyone who is feeling ill should stay home.
  • Vulnerable (high-risk) individuals should continue to follow the state’s Stay-at-Home Order.
  • Wear face coverings.
  • Maintain physical distance from others (at least six feet).
  • Maintain good hygiene by washing hands, using hand sanitizer and covering coughs and sneezes.
  • Follow signs and farm staff instructions.

The University Farm is located at 311 Nicholas C. Schouten Lane in Chico. For more information, contact the farm office at 530-898-6343.
