University Farm to Sell Pumpkins

Assorted pumpkins in fieldThe Chico State University Farm grew four acres of pumpkins this year and will offer the festive seasonal gourds for self-serve public sales at the University Farm greenhouse complex on Thursday and Fridays over the next two weeks.

Pumpkins are sorted by size and will be available in $2, $3 and $6 sizes. Only exact change and checks will be accepted via drop box.

The self-serve pumpkin sales will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, October 15–23, 2020.

The University Farm is located at 311 Nicholas C. Schouten Lane south of Chico. Follow the signs to the greenhouse and look for the pumpkin wagon. With limited staffing, and to limit face-to-face interaction, guests are asked to maintain physical distancing while pumpkin shopping and leave correct payment in the drop box provided.

Please review the following information to ensure a smooth and safe experience at the University Farm:

  • Self-Serve Pumpkin Sales will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 15, 16, 22, and 23.
  • Please follow all signs and staff instructions.
  • Pumpkins will be sorted into $2, $3, and $6 sizes. Payment may be made by exact change or checks made out to Chico State University Farm.
  • Anyone who is feeling ill should stay home.
  • Vulnerable (high-risk) individuals should continue to follow the state’s Stay-at-Home Order.
  • Wear face coverings.
  • Maintain good hygiene by washing hands, using hand sanitizer and covering coughs and sneezes.

While visiting the University Farm, consider also stopping at the Meat Laboratory, which is open for public sales from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. The University Farm also sells greenhouse plants and organic vegetables at the Greenhouse from 1–4 p.m. on Fridays.
