Holiday Cheer Blooms at University Farm

Student inspects red poinsettia in greenhouse full of red and white plantsPoinsettias and Christmas cacti grown at the University Farm Greenhouses are now available to the public. The greenhouse will be open for holiday plant sales on Thursday and Fridays from 1:30-4:30 p.m. through December 18. Organic produce from the Organic Vegetable Project (OVP) is also available for purchase on Fridays from noon–4 p.m.

Christmas cacti are in bloom and priced from $7-$17 depending upon size and maturity. A gorgeous array of red, white, marble, and tapestry-colored poinsettias range from $5-$7.

In keeping with guidance from Butte County Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all visitors are asked to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Anyone who is feeling ill should stay home.
  • Vulnerable (high risk) individuals should continue to follow the State’s Stay-at-Home Order.
  • Wear face coverings.
  • Maintain at least six feet of physical distance from others.
  • Maintain good hygiene by washing hands, using hand sanitizer, and covering coughs and sneezes.

While visiting the University Farm, consider also stopping at the Meat Laboratory, which is open for public sales from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
