Patricia Stock

Dr.  S. Patricia Stock earned her doctorate in natural sciences, a teaching credential for higher education, and her undergraduate degree in zoology from the National University of La Plata, Argentina. Over the course of her career, Stock has devoted efforts to promoting research, education and outreach activities related to the art and science of agriculture. She established a well-funded and internationally recognized research program with focus on insect pathogens as biological model systems and as alternatives to pest management. She published over 120 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 12 book chapters and edited 2 books. Prior to joining Chico State, Dr. Stock was a faculty member at the University of Arizona, Tucson, for 20 years, and has served as the director of the School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences from 2018 to 2021.Throughout her career, Dr. Stock received numerous awards for her teaching, and leadership in diversity as well as in recognition to her research, including the Rockefeller Biotechnology Career,  Fulbright Senior Specialist  and the Society for Invertebrate Pathology Founders Lecturer awards, among others

Nicole Johansson is a marketing and communications consultant with 25 years experience in brand, advertising strategy, media relations and development of cause related marketing partnerships and crisis communications. After graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Journalism in 1996, Johansson worked in public relations and marketing early in her career in Denver and San Francisco. She married a farmer and forgave city life in 2004, moving to a family-owned olive ranch in Oroville. Since moving to Butte County she’s held management positions at Tri Counties Bank and Enloe Medical Center. She has extensive experience in crisis communications beginning with theme park incidents and 911 through present day and recent natural disasters. She is heavily involved in promoting the local agricultural industry. Notably, she’s been at the helm of the Sierra Oro Farm Trail, which is now in its 19th year. She passionately works with clients including water districts, the City of Chico, Honeybee Discovery Center, Golden State Farm Credit and others to help achieve their marketing and communications goals.
