The panelists will address what steps individuals and families can take to plan, protect, and succeed given these challenges. In addition the panelists will talk about the impact of government debt and the market for the future, the difference between active and value add investing and why does it matter, and what it really means to have a financial plan

gary bedfordGary Bedford, (’77) Gary Bedford is a registered representative with Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. a Broker/Dealer and Member FINRA/SIPC, and a registered investment advisor representative with Cambridge Investment Research Advisors, Inc., a registered investment advisor ("Cambridge"). He has practiced in financial services since 1979, and in Boulder County, Colorado since 1982. Gary graduated from Chico State in 1977, and received his M.A from Denver University in 2011. He has distinguished himself with various professional designations and certifications, including the Certified Investment Management Analyst CIMA®, Chartered Financial Consultant ChFC®, Retirement Income Certified Professional RICP®, and Chartered Life Underwriter CLU® professional designations.

kimberly fossKimberly Foss, CFT-I Candidate (’90) Foss is the author of Wealthy by Design: A 5-Step Plan for Financial Security. She is also the founder and president of Empyrion Wealth Management™, where she brings both technical expertise and real passion to her work with clients, including affluent family stewards, women in transition, and thriving retirees. Foss began her career at Merrill Lynch as the youngest female account executive in its long history. She later left the commission-driven environment of a stock brokerage firm to found E&A Investment Advisory, which grew into the independent Empyrion in 2002. Kimberly is a thought leader in the financial industry and frequently shares her expertise on the markets, financial planning, and investing with leading media outlets — including The Today Show, Good Morning America, CNBC, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Fox News, Fox Business, MSN Money, Investor’s Business Daily, and U.S. News & World Report.
