Self-care is the practice of taking care of your emotional, social, physical, and spiritual well-being to promote health and wellness. When students prioritize self-care, it can reduce stress and anxiety during their college experience!
Below are ways students can practice self-care on campus:
Emotional -
Check-in & be honest with what you are feeling
Connect to WellCat Counseling & process your emotions guided by a therapist

Social -
Maintain relationships - schedule time to talk with family/friends back home
Create new connections - join a fraternity, sorority, club or organization through student life & leadership BMU, room 220

Physical -

Recharge at The Well in a sleep pod, attend a yoga class, or get a massage! BMU, room 003B
Find a physical release at the WREC in the weight room, swimming pool, or group exercise classes! 150 Cherry St
Spiritual -
Travel the world & discover yourself through Study Abroad & Exchange! SSC, room 440

If you are noticing a student experiencing distress such as a marked change in academic performance, dramatic or unusual shifts in behavior or appearance, unhealthy or combative interpersonal behaviors, reported life stressors, or references to self-harm, refer them to the CARE Team.

The CARE Team is not tasked with responding to emergencies. If you have an emergency and you are in need of immediate assistance, contact University Police at 530-898-5555.
