We'd like to remind the campus community that, in addition to our Prayer and Reflection Space, The Well has an Ablution Area located in the gender-inclusive restroom just outside the main entrance. These areas support students' spiritual practices. The Ablution Area will remain locked when not in use; please check in with reception for access. Slippers are provided in the Prayer and Reflection Space for convenience.
As one of only six CSU campuses offering this resource, The Well is committed to promoting an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
What is an ablution area? An ablution area is a dedicated space equipped with facilities for performing ablution (wudu) before prayers. It is designed to provide a clean and comfortable environment for individuals to perform ablution rituals, enhance their spiritual experience, and promote a sense of community.
Our wudu station is equipped with:
Basin with running water
Soap holder
Paper towels
Slip-resistant flooring for safety
Our Commitment to Inclusivity: The Associated Students of Chico State is unwavering in its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that respects our community members' diverse religious and cultural practices. Introducing an ablution area is a tangible reflection of this dedication, demonstrating our willingness to accommodate the needs of our Muslim community and all members of our diverse campus.
Feedback and Suggestions: We value your feedback and suggestions as we continuously strive to improve our campus facilities. If you have any comments or suggestions regarding the ablution area, please contact our Wellness Center Program Director at chammans@csuchico.edu.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to create a more inclusive and responsive campus environment.
