Free Writing Tutoring Available

The Student Learning Center (SLC) offers free writing assistance to all CSU, Chico students at our Writing Center. Trained, faculty-recommended, and experienced peer tutors are ready to help with different writing tasks including essay assignments, research projects, reports, resumes, and graduate application materials. In a collaborative and supportive environment, tutors help students understand writing assignments, defeat writer's block, develop and organize ideas, and polish their work – all while promoting independent learning.

Drop-ins are welcome, but students are encouraged to make an appointment. Appointments guarantee students 1 hour with a tutor whereas drop-ins may be limited to 30 minutes on a first come, first served basis. Writing appointments may be made in person, by calling 530-898-6839, orONLINE.

Location: Student Services Center (SSC) Room 340

Drop-in hours: Monday-Thursday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm & Friday, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Drop-In Hours MLIB 4th Floor: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Appointments: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am – 9:00 pm & Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
