If you are an undergraduate considering graduate school or a current graduate student interested in supporting undergraduates exploring grad school, the Graduate Pathways Society (GPS Club) invites you to submit a statement of interest (200 words or less) for any of the following officer positions by February 5, 2025:
President
Leads meetings, is the main point of contact with other organizations, discusses the future of the club with the advisor, attends a monthly Student Life and Leadership meeting, and attends an annual training.
Vice-President
Supports President
Secretary
Takes notes during meetings, creates and distributes the agenda and minutes, handles communications through Cats Connect (send reminders for upcoming meetings, handles invitations).
Election
Officers shall be elected by a simple majority vote of the members present at the first meeting of the spring semester (Wednesday, February 12 at 3 PM in SSC 122 and Zoom).
Elected officers will shadow current officers for spring 2025 and take over full duties fall 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
Must be matriculated and enrolled at Chico State; undergraduates must maintain a minimum overall 2.0 grade point average per term, and graduate students must maintain a minimum overall 3.0 grade point average per term. The student must be in good standing and must not be on probation of any kind.
Undergraduate students must earn six (6) semester units per term while holding office.
Undergraduate students are allowed to earn a maximum of 150 semester units.
Graduate and credential students must earn three (3) semester units per term while holding office or be in adjunct enrollment status.
Graduate and credential students are allowed to earn a maximum of 50 semester units (unless enrolled in a program requiring a higher total number of units).
Students holding more than this number of units will no longer be eligible for minor student government office. (Chancellor's Executive Order 1068).
