44th Lunar New Year Celebration

Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, 4:30–8 p.m.

St. John's Episcopal Church

Join the 44th Lunar New Year Celebration, a beloved community tradition that first began in 1976 with the efforts of some Chico State Chinese faculty members. Come enjoy a festive evening filled with a delicious buffet dinner and captivating performances, including a lion dance, songs, dance, and magic shows.

This event has long been a cultural highlight in our community, bringing people together to celebrate the most significant holiday form any Asian communities, including Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Singaporean, and Malaysian cultures. After a six-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we are thrilled to relaunch this cherished tradition for the first time since 2019.

This year's celebration is made possible through the collaboration of the Asian Pacific Islander and Desi American (APIDA) Resource Center, the Asian Pacific Islander Council (APIC), the APAPA Butte County Chapter, the Chico State Chinese Students and Scholars Association(CSSA), the Asian Student Union (ASU), and the Chico Asian Community.
