Available in Fall 2025: SOSC/PHHA 543 - Social Gerontology

Announced on: Monday, Feb. 17, 2025

Starting in Fall 2025 the Social Science Program will begin offering "SOSC/PHHA 543 - Social Gerontology" as a fully online and asynchronous course.

Focusing on the social aspects of problems and prospects for America's elders, this course studies the changes people face as they age in modern society, as individual social beings, and as members of a larger society. Highly recommended for students interested in pursuing career fields where they will be working with older populations.

Fully Online and Asynchronous, perfect for students enrolled in online degree programs or those needing the flexibility of an asynchronous course.
No prerequisites
Can count toward several minors (Family Relations, Gerontology, and Public Health)
Part of the Gerontology Certificate option
A great elective for Juniors/Seniors majoring in areas like Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Sociology, and more!
A wonderful introduction to a BOOMING career field, projected to continue growing over the next decade.
