Know the Signs of Alcohol Poisoning!

Announced on: Thursday, Mar. 06, 2025

As part of our ongoing alcohol prevention and awareness efforts, we want to ensure all students have the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions about alcohol use.

Know the Signs of Alcohol Poisoning
Alcohol poisoning is a medical emergency that can be life-threatening. If someone exhibits any of the following signs, call for help immediately:
Confusion or inability to stay conscious
Vomiting while unconscious or unable to wake up
Slow or irregular breathing (fewer than 8 breaths per minute or 10+ seconds between breaths)
Seizures
Hypothermia (cold, clammy, or blue-tinted skin)

The Good Samaritan Law – Protect Yourself & Others

If you think someone is experiencing alcohol poisoning, never hesitate to call for help. California's Good Samaritan Law protects both the person in need and the caller from legal consequences related to underage drinking when seeking medical assistance. Saving a life is always the priority.
