Rejoice and Reflect at the Sustainability Summit

Announced on: Wednesday, Mar. 19, 2025

The Chico State community is invited for an evening of collaboration, inspiration, and action at the Sustainability Summit, Gateway Science Museum 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

Food and drinks will be provided.

This interactive event is for students, faculty, staff, and community members to connect, learn, and contribute to a more sustainable future. The summit will feature a brief presentation from Interim Director of Sustainability Marie Patterson, highlighting key sustainability initiatives, including the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating (STARS) report—a self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure sustainability performance—updates on the new Behavioral and Social Services net-zero building, and the impactful work of Green Campus students. Attendees will also hear about exciting upcoming events and how to get involved in shaping the future of sustainability efforts on campus.

"Together we can build a stronger, greener future," Patterson said. "Your voice and participation are essential as we work to create a more sustainable campus and community."

Following the opening presentation, the event will transition into networking and interactive stations, where participants can engage with sustainability initiatives firsthand. Whether it's providing input on campus sustainability goals, exploring STARS credits, signing up for volunteer opportunities, or connecting with student leaders, this is a chance to make a tangible impact.

The Campus Sustainability Committee and the Associated Students Sustainability Affairs Council are co-hosts. For more information, contact Marie Patterson.
