César Chávez Day is a time to honor the legacy of a leader who fought for justice, equality, and workers' rights. Whether you're participating in community service, attending events, or taking a well-deserved break, remember to celebrate responsibly, make informed decisions, and stay safe! There are so many ways to honor César Chávez while making meaningful connections—without alcohol!

Honor His Legacy Through Service

  • Volunteer at a local food bank, community garden, or organization supporting farmworkers.

  • Educate & Advocate

  • Watch a documentary or read about César Chávez's impact on labor rights.

  • Support businesses and farms that practice fair labor and sustainability

  • Enjoy Alcohol-Free Social Events

  • Host a potluck or picnic with friends featuring farm-to-table meals.

  • Plan a game night, movie marathon, or outdoor adventure with friends.

  • Explore & Connect With Nature

  • Take a hike, bike ride, or nature walk to appreciate the land Chávez worked to protect.

  • Visit a farmers' market and support local growers.

  • Focus on Wellness & Community

  • Join a yoga, meditation, or mindfulness session for self-care.

Alcohol poisoning is a medical emergency that can be life-threatening. Call 911.

Signs of Alcohol Poisoning:
Confusion or inability to stay conscious
Vomiting while unconscious or unable to wake up
Slow or irregular breathing (fewer than 8 breaths per minute or 10+ seconds between breaths)
Seizures
Hypothermia (cold, clammy, or blue-tinted skin)

The Good Samaritan Law

If someone is experiencing alcohol poisoning, never hesitate to call for help. California's Good Samaritan Law protects both the person in need and the caller from legal consequences related to underage drinking when seeking medical assistance. Save a life, make the call.
