Chico Noon Rotary honors Karen Schreder, Civic Engagement Regional Faculty Fellow

Announced on: Monday, Apr. 07, 2025

At their weekly meeting last Tuesday, the Chico Noon Rotary proudly honored Dr. Karen Schreder as the Chico Noon Rotary Educator of the Year from Chico State. Dr. Schreder currently serves as a Faculty Fellow with the Office of Civic Engagement and as the Program Coordinator for the Education Specialist Program in the School of Education.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education and community engagement, Dr. Schreder was presented with a beautifully crafted glass apple from Orient and Flume and a gift certificate to Tres Hombres.

Dr. Schreder brings a wealth of experience to her role, having spent much of her career as a special educator in rural schools throughout Tehama County. As the Regional Faculty Fellow at Chico State, she now mentors Student Ambassadors from rural areas, supporting their efforts in community asset mapping and building strong connections with local high school students and community partners.

Chico Noon Rotary is proud to recognize Dr. Schreder's passion for education and her dedication to empowering future educators and communities across Northern California.
