Join us for ChatGPT AI Immersion Day on Tuesday, April 15, a dynamic all-campus event designed to explore the art of the possible with generative AI in higher education, the workforce, and beyond.
AI Immersion Day day kicks off with opening remarks from President Steve Perez, followed by Monique Sendze, Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, who will introduce our keynote guest from OpenAI. Austin Bates, a Chico State alumnus now working at OpenAI, will lead a fireside chat alongside several of his colleagues—offering an exclusive insider perspective on the evolving future of AI.
For faculty, the Education Advisory Board (EAB) will present strategies for overcoming common barriers to AI adoption in the classroom and highlight how generative tools are already transforming teaching, learning, and student engagement.
Throughout the day, participants can explore:
- Advanced features of ChatGPT
- How AI can enhance accessibility and support for individuals with disabilities
- Collaborative breakout sessions on:
- AI-driven career pathways for students
- Creating and customizing GPTs
- Graphic design and creative considerations for representing Chico State
The event will close with an open Q&A session, during which subject matter experts will answer questions and offer deeper insight. AI Immersion Day promises to be a fun, engaging, and thought-provoking experience for students, faculty, and staff alike—designed to spark curiosity, promote responsible exploration, and demonstrate the real-world relevance of AI across disciplines.
