Hey Wildcats!
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), a time dedicated to raising awareness about sexual violence and promoting prevention in our communities. At Safe Place, our goal is to shift the conversation around sexual violence and empower our communities to become active bystanders in the fight to end it.
This month, we want to provide better language and understanding for those sharing their journey, and encourage solidarity with survivors. Wear teal ribbons throughout April to show your support! Don't have one? Visit us at Safe Place (SSC 430) to pick up a ribbon or button!
Safe Place will also be hosting several events this month. You can find more details on CatsConnect or on our website: https://www.csuchico.edu/safeplace/. This year, Safe Place's theme for SAAM is "Celebration of Survivors".
Remember, while many campus employees are mandatory reporters, Safe Place offers confidential advocacy services to students, staff, and faculty. You can share your story with us and receive resources and reporting options—without any obligation. All of our services are voluntary and confidential.
