The Hispanic Associations of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and New Mexico State University are hosting a webinar "Hispanic-Serving Borderland Institutions: Best Teaching, Mentoring, and Learning Practices," presented by Dr. Hilda Cecilia Contreras Aguirre, STEM Education Researcher and Dr. Maryanne Long, Director of Postdoctoral Affairs and Graduate Fellowships at the University of Texas, El Paso on Friday, April 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. PT.
The webinar will focus on how equity at Minority-Serving Institutions should strive to provide multiple opportunities and contribute to the mission of student success for underserved populations. New Mexico State University and Dona Ana Community College are implementing innovative interventions to achieve student success in higher education. The focus on mentoring, teaching and learning practices to accomplish student engagement and success and highlight learning what successful practices can be replicated in other similar academic settings and promoting asset-based approaches among departments and programs at HSIs.
