Our students are motivated high school students preparing for postsecondary education. During the summer, over 200 high school students participate in our six-week summer residential program. Here, students have the opportunity to experience college firsthand. Our students live in the residence halls at CSU, Chico, where they take college preparatory classes in the morning and intern at various businesses and organizations in our Chico community. There is always a wide range of work skills and experience levels within our group of participants, and we are always looking to provide our students with internships that will expose them to their future career goals. Upward Bound Projects sponsors youth employment during the summer which provides our students with internships and many businesses and organizations like yours, free help over the summer. Payment of wages or benefits are not required from worksite supervisors, nor are you required to carry any type of insurance for the students. Our 2025 summer residential program will begin on Sunday, June 8th and will end on Tuesday, July 15th. Student interns will be available to work with you beginning Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 until Thursday, July 10th, 2025, Monday through Thursday from 1:30pm – 4:30pm.
