Now Accepting Applications: Fall 2025 BSS FUTURE Scholars Program

The Dean's Office is excited to announce that applications for the Fall 2025 BSS FUTURE Scholars Program are now open — from April 28 until spots are filled!

This program offers Hispanic/Latinx and/or low-income (HLI) undergraduate students in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences the opportunity to gain hands-on research experience, faculty mentorship, and professional development in preparation for graduate school and future careers.

Program Highlights:

Session Dates: October 6 – December 5, 2025
Student Compensation: Up to $3,000 in research wages
Faculty Compensation: Up to $1,048 per student (max $2,096)
Eligibility: Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents
Application: Open until filled; interviews required for final selection

How to Apply:

  • Students must identify a Chico State faculty mentor and submit the Student Application.
  • Faculty must submit a Faculty Application for each student.
  • Priority is given to new applicants. Past participants may reapply for a second session.
