HACU Professional Programs applications open!

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) offers three professional programs for teachers, administrators, faculty, and staff in collaboration with external partners to develop transformational academic leaders serving present and future generations. The deadline for applying has been extended to July 31, 2025.

Ascend PreK-12 Leadership Program – a six-month cohort-based, fully online program guiding educators, academic leaders, teachers, coordinators, supervisors, directors, and deans in effectively leading schools and school districts in a constantly evolving landscape.  Minimum requirements include:

  • At least five years of full-time PreK-12 education experience.
  • Completion of at least a bachelor's degree. 
  • Currently serving in a supervisory position or two years of previous supervisor experience.

Enlace Mid-Level Leadership Program – a six-month leadership development experience for college and university professionals, academic or non-academic support personnel at the mid-level of their higher education organizations. Minimum requirements include:

  • At least five years of full-time higher education experience.
  • Completion of at least a bachelor's degree.
  • Serving in a supervisory position or two years of previous supervisor experience.

Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo – a one-year leadership program to prepare the next generation of culturally diverse leaders for executive and senior level positions in higher education. Minimum requirements include:

  • At least 10 years of full-time higher education experience.
  • Completion of at least a master's degree.
  • Currently serving in a director or higher supervisory position or 6 years of previous supervisor experience.
