Research Participants Wanted for Metabolic Syndrome Study

Are you between the ages of 40 and 64 and living in Chico or the surrounding areas?

You may qualify to participate in a 12-week research study at Chico State if you have been diagnosed with any of the following conditions associated with metabolic syndrome:

• High blood pressure
• High blood sugar
• Excess abdominal fat
• Abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels

Participation includes:

• Completing assessment forms
• Having blood drawn
• Free nutrition counseling
• Guided walking and yoga sessions

Additional details:

• IRB approved
• Must be willing to have blood drawn and engage in light physical activity
• Study duration: 12 weeks
• Study Location: Chico State, YOLO Hall
