Help fix a summer blood shortage with Chico State's first Blood Drive of the year

The first Chico State Blood Drive of the year is Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept 2 & 3. Appointments are strongly recommended – you can make an appointment using the QR codes below, or by visiting donors.vitalant.org. At the link, search for the Chico State event by "Blood Drive Code" and use SMFL003. Walk-ins will be accomodated if there is availability.

Blood donors are badly needed! Due to a severe summer shortage, Type O- is listed as in Severe Need and all other blood types are listed as Critical Need. Your donation can help prevent delays in lifesaving medical care.

Volunteers are also needed to help staff the check-in and refreshments table. 1-hour volunteer slots are available both days at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm. Volunteer sign up form.

Information for donors

• You will be asked to complete a Fast Track Health History the day of your donation at vitalant.org/health.
• Please bring a photo ID. Eat well and drink plenty of water before donating.
• Eligibility Guidelines have been changing, and it's a good idea to review them in advance to make sure you will be able to donate. Also, there can be CDC restrictions due to recent travel – if you have traveled outside the U.S. recently it's a good idea to call 800-289-4923 to find out if you are eligible to donate.
