Request a Grad School Presentation for Your Club

Interested in having a Graduate Studies Outreach team member visit your club or organization this semester to offer a short presentation on graduate education opportunities?

We interviewed Chico State undergraduate students and found that many do not have a clear understanding of the value of graduate degrees or how to identify, prepare, and apply for a degree program. They often believe graduate degrees are only for the academic elite, are unaffordable, and are often regarded as a luxury. As a result, only a small percentage of our students pursue a postgraduate degree. The percentage is even smaller for our historically underrepresented students.

This is unfortunate because the US Department of Labor reports a growing demand for postgraduate degrees in most fields and higher employment rates, job security, and significantly higher lifetime earnings afforded those holding the advanced degrees.

If you are looking for programming for your club or would just like to help us "bust" these myths, we'll come to your meeting.
