Attention all creative minds at Chico State!
This October, the Division of IT invites students, staff, and faculty to join our exciting community art project for the 3rd
Annual Festival of the Phishes, Chico State's annual cybersecurity awareness carnival. We are looking for designers to
spoof iconic album covers—incorporating a cybersecurity message into the design! If you would like to participate but
are unsure how to start, we have a design team ready to help.
What Are We Looking For?
We are seeking spoofs of iconic album covers that creatively incorporate cybersecurity themes. Whether it's a spin on a
classic album cover, your own creation, your artwork should be eye-catching, humorous, and educational.
Consider music from around the world and be mindful of cultural sensitivities. Avoid anything that could be considered
offensive. We are aiming for inclusive and thought-provoking designs that make cybersecurity relatable and accessible.
How to Participate
1. Submit Your Idea: Let us know what you plan to create by Monday, October 6th to reserve your spot in the
exhibit. Let us know in the Teams channel if you want to participate.
2. Final Submission: All finished works are due by Monday, October 13th.
3. Art Exhibit: Your artwork will be showcased at the 3rd Annual Festival of the Phishes on October 16th in Trinity
Commons from 10 AM – 2 PM. After the event, the posters will be showcased around campus to keep the
cybersecurity awareness campaign in full force.
Why Participate?
With phishing attempts in education on the rise, the Festival of the Phishes aims to raise cybersecurity awareness
through fun, engaging activities. Your iconic album cover will help make cybersecurity education more expressive and
playful to the campus community.
This is your chance to showcase your creativity, make a difference in cybersecurity awareness, and have your work
displayed at a campus-wide event. Feel free to reach out to Scott Sleeper (ssleeper@csuchico.edu) at any time with
questions or to discuss ideas.
We cannot wait to see how you combine art and cybersecurity to create something truly impactful!
