Director of Civic Engagement: Call for Applications

California State University, Chico is seeking a strong faculty leader to enhance the University's distinguished record of civic engagement, community partnership, and students' sense of social responsibility. Chico State's commitment to civic engagement is articulated in the 2024 Chico State Playbook and the CSU Center for Community Engagement. The Civic Engagement Office, which provides campuswide leadership for these efforts, is seeking a creative, energetic Director to continue pursuit of its strategic goals.

The Director position is a 0.6 faculty release (9 AWTU/semester) position beginning spring 2026 (partial fall 2025 and summer appointment negotiable). The role is open to faculty of all ranks and disciplines, including lecturers and tenure‐track and tenured faculty. The Director reports to the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Academic Success.
