Anthropology on Screen

Announced on: Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025

Anthropology on Screen with CAS (The Chico Anthropological Society) November 17th!

On November 17th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Sylvester's Café, join the Anthropological Society for an unforgettable evening as we unearth the timeless adventure of The Mummy (1999)!

With a FREE PIZZA FEAST, all the hot chocolate you can drink, and all the popcorn you can eat, come with us on an adventure into the sands of ancient Egypt - where archaeology and mythology intertwine. While archaeology in the real world doesn't usually involve fighting the undead, it's always fun to look back on the stories that inspired many of us to pursue Anthropology as adults. Whether you're an Anthropology major, an aspiring adventurer, or a student who wants to learn more about what anthropology is, all majors are welcome to attend this FREE event, and ALL OF CHICO STATE is invited! Please bring your friends, colleagues, clubs, and departments for an unforgettable evening with Chico State's oldest and largest Anthropology club.

Finally, while watching movies and studying Anthropology is fun, in these difficult times where benefits are being cut left and right, it's important to keep Chico State students fed and safe - which is why we will be offering a huge selection of completely FREE FOOD to all who attend. After all, helping each other in times of struggle is what makes us human - and that's what Anthropology is all about.

Come for the entertainment, stay for the free food, and immerse yourself in the relaxing atmosphere of Sylvester's Cafe. Popcorn, mystery, and mummies await!

Dare to dig deeper with CAS on our biggest event of the year!
