Interns Wanted: Join The GSEC Team!

The Gender & Sexuality Equity Coalition (GSEC) at Chico State is now accepting applications for Spring 2026 interns! This is a hands-on, community-centered opportunity for students who are passionate about feminist, queer, trans, and intersectional activism and want to create meaningful change on campus.

As a GSEC intern, you'll work closely with staff and fellow interns to support programming, outreach, advocacy, and educational initiatives that uplift marginalized communities and promote equity, inclusion, and justice at Chico State.

Available Internship Areas

LGBTQ2S+ Program Interns
Women's Program Interns
Outreach Program Interns

Internship Requirements

Commit 8–10 hours per week working in the GSEC office and/or at campus events
Enroll in EGQS/MCGS 389: Informed Activism (3-unit internship course)
Attend mandatory weekly intern meetings on Monday nights from 5–7 PM
Participate in mandatory intern training on February 6–7

What You'll Learn

How to apply feminist, queer, trans, and intersectional frameworks to real-world advocacy work
Practical skills in teamwork, communication, leadership, and event planning
Strategies for engaging effectively with the campus community and the general public
Experience working within an equity-focused campus resource center
