Discover the work of 23 iconic African American artists from the private collection of Archie and Garbo Hearne, on view at the Jacki Headley University Art Gallery (January 20-March 14, 2026). A Chico State alum, Archie (Biology '73) and his wife Garbo have supported generations of artists through their gallery, Hearne Fine Art, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Founded in 1988, Hearne Fine Art is now a vital conduit for the preservation and promotion of Black art by local, regional, national, and international artists of African descent. The Hearne Collection: Source of Light Jacki Headley University Art Gallery (Arts & Humanities Building, Rm 121) Exhibition Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 12-4pm.
