College Student AI Use for Nutrition Guidance– Research Study (IRB-2025-98)

Announced on: Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026

Dr. Seth Selorm Klobodu, faculty in the Department of Nutrition and Food Science at California State University, Chico, is conducting a research study about how college students use generative AI tools for nutrition guidance.

You are invited to participate if you:
• Are 18 years of age or older
• Are currently enrolled as a college student

If you choose to participate, you will complete an anonymous online survey that takes approximately 10–15 minutes. The survey asks questions about your use of AI tools for nutrition guidance and basic demographic information (such as age group and academic discipline).

At the end of the survey, you may optionally volunteer for a follow-up interview by completing a separate, unlinked form. This form is not connected to your survey responses. Participation is voluntary.

This study involves minimal risk, no greater than that experienced in everyday life. The study may help increase awareness of the limits of AI tools and support safer, more informed use of AI for nutrition guidance.
