Effective payroll decisions require clarity, consistency, and policy alignment. This course equips managers with the knowledge required to make accurate and timely payroll determinations. Participants will examine how pay types and employment status affect time reporting, review meal and rest period requirements, and receive guidance on employee separations. The session clarifies CSU payroll policies, key deadlines, and campus resources that support compliant decision making. By the end of the session, managers will be able to define pay categories, distinguish between exempt and nonexempt employees, and apply relevant labor regulations to ensure compliant payroll practices.
