In conjunction with the Exhibition, What's your Mood, the Valene l. Smith Museum of Anthropology presents the second workshop in the exploring moods series. Join Ceramic artist and Chico State lecturer, Preston Lawson at the museum to make mood monsters from clay. Thursday, March 5, 2026 4-5pm
In this workshop we will experience first-hand how engaging in creative acts can shift and even improve your mood. We know it feels like you don't have time for escapist art, relaxation, or even fun right now- papers are due, tests are happening and midterms are looming. BUT research says taking a break to clear your mind for 30-45 minutes will actually improve your focus. So come get your hands into some clay and feel the calm restore your focus and improve your mood just in time for your next big deadline. Open for faculty staff and students. Free of charge.
