Last Call: Prepare for the Document Publishing Transition

Announced on: Tuesday, Mar. 24, 2026

This is a final campus-wide reminder that an update to how documents are published on campus websites will take effect on April 1, 2026.

Beginning on that date, PDF documents can no longer be uploaded directly to campus websites. Instead, documents must be submitted through the Web Support ticket system and will be reviewed for accessibility compliance before publishing.

This change is part of the university's efforts to meet federal digital accessibility requirements under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which require accessible web and digital content by April 24, 2026.

What to expect

  • Document uploads will be handled by Web Services after accessibility review
  • PDFs that do not meet accessibility standards will require remediation before publishing
  • Content updates, including documents, can continue to be requested through the support ticket system at no cost

Resources to help you prepare

Preparing accessible documents before submission will help reduce processing time and support faster publishing.

We recognize this is a change to an established process and appreciate your partnership in preparing for the transition. These updates are intended to support accessibility, reduce risk, and ensure our digital content serves all members of the campus community.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Web Services at webservices@csuchico.edu.
