End of No Leave Taken (NLT) Reporting for State-Side Employees

Announced on: Wednesday, Mar. 25, 2026

The Payroll Office is pleased to share an important update regarding CHRS.

The Chancellor's Office (CO) has revised a policy affecting most state employees: entering and approving "No Leave Taken" (NLT) for each pay period is no longer required when no absences or leave are reported.

Effective immediately, employees are no longer required to enter "No Leave Taken" in CHRS if they have not used any leave (e.g., vacation, sick time). However, employees must continue to report any leave taken, and managers remain responsible for reviewing and approving reported time on an ongoing basis.

The CO's CHRS training and security teams are currently updating knowledgebase articles and removing NLT-related navigation and tiles. Until these updates are complete, please disregard any NLT-related prompts or features.

If you have any questions, please contact the Payroll Office at payroll@csuchico.edu.
