Announced on: Friday, Mar. 27, 2026
CSU International Programs (CSUIP) is launching its inaugural faculty-led summer programs for Summer 2027. Please share the information below with faculty on your campus.
These programs are designed to expand access to study abroad through short-term, high-impact experiences that integrate academic rigor with immersive, place-based learning. Faculty will have the opportunity to design and lead a three-week, 3-unit course in one of three global locations: Italy, Spain, or Ghana.
Why this matters and why faculty should care:
- A chance to bring their curriculum to life in a global context
- Direct engagement with students in a high-impact, experiential setting
- Support from CSUIP on logistics, program development, and recruitment so faculty can focus on the academic vision
- An opportunity to contribute to CSU systemwide efforts to expand equitable access to study abroad
Programs will run in two sessions (June and July 2027), and faculty will play a central role in shaping the academic and experiential components of the program while collaborating closely with CSUIP throughout development and delivery.
We are looking for faculty who:
- Are strong, student-centered teachers
- Have ideas for experiential learning abroad tied to their discipline
- Are motivated to engage and recruit a diverse group of students
- May not have previously led a study abroad program but are ready to step into that role
