Make an Impact: Join SHAC

Announced on: Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026

Want to make an impact on student health at Chico State and gain hands-on experience while doing it?

The WellCat Health Center is recruiting student members for the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) for the academic year.

SHAC is a student-led campus committee that works with the Health Center to help make health and wellness programs, services, and outreach more responsive to what students actually need.

As a SHAC member, you may help:

  • Gather student feedback through surveys and outreach
  • Review and interpret survey results and trends
  • Help shape health education campaigns
  • Share recommendations with the WellCat Health Center
  • Support campus events and wellness initiatives
  • Bring the student perspective into conversations about campus health
  • SHAC is also a great way to build practical experience in health education, research and assessment, data interpretation, communication, outreach, and leadership.

No previous experience is required, and you do not need to be a health-related major. Students from all majors, backgrounds, and experiences are encouraged to apply.

Interested? Complete our SHAC Interest Form to tell us a little about yourself and what you'd like to bring to the committee.
